"The End Is The Beginning Is The End" es una canción que ganó un premio "Grammy" compuesta por "The Smashing Pumpkins". Fue el primer lanzamiento en el que se incluyó a Matt Walker como batería, que más tarde realizaría en varias pistas en "Adore" y todos los de James Iha del "Let It Come Down".
Billy dijo sobre su creación; "...yo no estaba hablando de mí o tratando de representar los Smashing Pumpkins. Estaba tratando de representar a Batman". Además, comentó; "la letra de la canción representa al Batman de los años cuarenta, cuando era un "personaje más oscuro".
El video musical fue dirigido por Jonathan Dayton, Valerie Faris y Joel Schumacher. Representa a los miembros de los Pumpkins flotando frente a las imágenes de "Batman & Robin". El video es interesante por el hecho de que por ser el único vídeo con Matt Walker ticando la batería. El video también fue nominado en los MTV Video Music Awards de 1997 Mejor edición, Mejor fotografía, Mejores efectos especiales y Mejor dirección.
"Warner Bros Records" tiene los derechos y la exclusividad del sencillo y del video, por lo que la banda no pudo utilizarlos para las versiones futuras, estando ausentes en sus lanzamientos de "Greatest Hits" en Dvd y Cd.
