THE SPANISH PUMPKINS

"The Everlasting Gaze" es una canción escrita por Billy Corgan y grabada por "The Smashing Pumpkins". Es la canción de apertura del disco "Machina/The Machines of God". La canción sólo fue lanzada como un sencillo promocional, pero un video fue lanzado debido a su gran rotación en la radio.
El video musical fue dirigido por Jonas Åkerlund, es el primero en el que aparece Melissa Auf der Maur, tocando el bajo con la banda tras la salida de D'Arcy Wretzky. Originalmente, la banda había pensado en Jonathan Dayton y Valerie Faris para dirigir el vídeo.
El video muestra a la banda tocando de forma rotunda en una enorme habitación de moqueta verde y techo repleto de luces cuadradas. Billy y Jimmy visten de negro, y en contraposición James y Melissa visten de blanco. En la primera mitad solo están tocando los cuatro miembros de la banda, pero luego, surgen de forma inesperada, un grupo de fans, caminando alrededor de los Pumpkins, en direcciones dispares. El final es totalmente agresivo, las guitarras y el bajo son golpeados sin piedad contra el suelo y la batería.
